VILE NATION

Tight Leash 7-Inch Even Worse

Some real nasty hardcore here courtesy of Memphis' Vile Nation. Four to-the-point tracks, tight delivery, great drumming giving this manic, claustrophobic feel. Tight Leash is less thrashy than their first two eps (including the limited demo one) but no less fierce - Less DRI more CHRONIC SICK. Dirty, lo-fi recording fits perfectly. Real Good.

VILE SPIRIT

Scorched Earth LP Quality Control

Scorched Earth marks the long awaited debut LP from the UK’s ultimate misfit squad, Vile Spirit. After well loved demo and promo tapes, Scorched Earth marks a major step up in terms of musical landscape and craft as members have sharpened their teeth touring Europe and being active members of the UK hardcore punk scene. Somehow they have managed to sew together influences such as United Mutation, Integrity and Black Metal into a noisy mass of hard as hell tunes with fuzzed out guitars burning your ear drums whilst being punched to death by relentlessly rolling drums excelling at unpredictable rhythmical directions. Meanwhile mid-tempo songs like Going Home march along, snarling in the darkness, creating an atmospheric backdrop for those who prefer to awaken at night. Vocalist Ben summons a cynical view of the world, conjuring tales of the survival of mankind and a contempt for the world.Bursting onto the UK hardcore punk scene three years ago the members have never ceased to play in and create numerous bands such as Gutter Knife, Saliva, and Chubby and the Gang. They originally formed part of the new generation of Brighton punks re-energizing the scene there alongside bands like State Funeral, Never and label mates Imposter, whilst members finished high school or started University. Joining the band on second guitar is Rory O’Neill, singer of Imposter, and responsible for the artwork on Scorched Earth.
Enjoy, and be damned upon the scorched Earth.

VIOLENT ARREST

Criminal Record 2x7-Inch Grave Mistake

The UK's Violent Arrest return with 12 brand new raging hardcore blasts on two 45 RPM EPs. Refusing to let up one bit from their first two releases on Deranged, V.A. continues to pummel you from start to finish with their savage brand of early US-by-the-way-of-UK hardcore. If spending the last two decades in classic UK bands like Heresy, Ripcord, Dumbstruck and Spite (to name a few) wasn't testament enough to these lads' abilities, 'Criminal Record' proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that these HC vets can still rip it up with the best of them.

VIOLENT FUTURE

s/t 7" Painkiller

One of our favorite demos of the year is now as 45rpm 7" on PKR. Carrying on the traditions of previous Toronto acts Urban Blight and Bad Choice (of which they share personnel), Violent Future arrive with their first recording -- originally a self released cassette -- of thuggishly played, classically trained HARDcore. Six stompers of futuretro crunch towing the same 4-Skins w/ Hodges/YDI/Iron Cross/Chaos UK buffet their previous bands were known for, but with the most ignorant drumming you've yet laid ears on. Recording by some famous indie rock dude. Limited to 500 copies.

VIOLENT MINDS

Eyes Of Death LP Deranged

Re-press of the glorious hardcore classic album "Eyes Of Death" by Violent Minds, remastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege with two bonus tracks. The repress also includes new art from Raf The Might/Too Many Skulls. For the uninitiated, Violent Minds was/is Zach Amsters who temporarily relocated to Toronto to join No Warning in the early 2000s. They wrote two incredible 7"s ("s/t" and "Riot") and then, in 2007, this monster album was recorded along with a few Philadelphia locals. Fast forward to 2012, Zach assembles a different crew in Boston and records a handful of new tracks with Chris Cory at the Paincave studio. This re-press includes two tracks ("Prison Planet" and "False Prophets") from this 2012 session. Features members of No Warning, Fucked Up, Boston Strangler, Mind Eraser, No Tolerance, Shark Attack and The Rival Mob. LP includes digital download.

VIOLENT OUTBURST

Survival Signs 7" Tension Head

Recorded after 2012's demo and after some minor lineup changes, "Survival Signs" provides a similar fix of rough, fast hardcore akin to the demo tape; two quick, pummeling ragers and a couple mid-tempo fist pumpers. VIOLENT REACTION

s/t 7" 6131

Few UK hardcore bands have garnered as much attention stateside as Violent Reaction, the one-man project of Liverpool's Tom Pimlott. His take on '80s style hardcore/punk adds an oi twist and gives the whole thing a contemporary feel, while staying true to the roots of all his influences. Having already toured in the UK, Europe and North America and with more touring planned throughout the remainder of 2013, Violent Reaction is helping to put UK hardcore/punk back on the minds of fans of the genres worldwide.

VIOLENT REACTION

City Streets LP Painkiller

One-man army Tom Pimlott arrives direct from Liverpool, England with an LP that splits the difference between early '80s US and UK hardcore with the kind of seamlessness and taste that escapes most bands. Whereas the original X-Claim crew took the British hardcore of the day and twisted it to fit their post-Minor Threat, townie world view, Violent Reaction takes the X-Claim sound and injects a tasteful dash of 1982-style British hardcore. Now available again on vinyl.

City Streets LP Quality Control

One of the best records the NWOBHC crew ever released gets a repress! This one perfectly blends Voorhees, Blitz, Negative FX and Impact Unit. So if you missed out the first time round, here's your chance to snag a copy!
The only difference with this version is the sleeve has a satin finish rather than a lacquer one. Those of you that love the new LP on Revelation will not be disappointed, as this contains a walk down memory lane, before there were two guitarists, with a sound thats more akin to the harder stuff on the new LP.

VIOLENT REACTON

Marching On LP Revelation

Originally conceived and executed as a one-man project by Tom Pimlott on the banks of the Mersey River in Liverpool, England, Violent Reaction recorded a demo in 2011, an EP in 2012 and an LP for Painkiller Records in 2013. Soon after, Tom relocated to Leeds to assemble a full band with an end result that finds the lads playing straight edge, hardcore punk with an obvious oi influence. With a lengthy American tour with their brother band The Flex under their belt, Violent Reaction is set to make their Revelation Records debut with "Marching On." Vinyl version includes digital download of this record. On colored vinyl.

VIOLENT SONS

Nothing As It Seems LP Bridge Nine

Violent Sons is fronted by Sean Murphy from Verse, the Providence, RI hardcore act who has released four records setting the bar for the modern enhancement of youth crew standards and their own more progressive and yet equally passionate and politically engaged/enraged strain. Also including Raindance drummer Evan White, their ten-song introduction, "Nothing As It Seems," is a ferocious effort that would imaginably please fans of Verse's ambitious trajectory, and yet it is completely its own project for much of its blistering 22-minute length. A metallic undercurrent here, a blast-beat there, a smoggy atmosphere elsewhere, propulsive, Kurt Ballou-esque riffs at other points - it all makes for a uniquely punchy and multifaceted debut that subtly twists punk's heavier formula into new shapes and colors while retaining Murphy's exasperated, incensed, sociopolitical frustrations. LP includes digital download. On colored vinyl.
