The Glory Of Nothing CD Goodwill

Screaming, horror inspired HC with plenty of melody and choruses. Incredibly mature and unlike anything else. Great artwork by Kevin Cross (of Pitch Black, Revelation records artists). This actually reminds me of a cross between Pitch Black and AFI and comes recommended.

s/t 7-Inch Feelin\' Fine

Keep It Up are a five-piece outfit hailing from Southern Ontario (Canada), featuring members of Rise Over Run and A Day & A Death Wish. They play classic old school influenced hardcore punk and specialize in being confused for a straight edge band. Five awesome and quite pissed songs and a YOT cover (Thinking Straight). This could've come out on Youngblood records easily and everyone would want it.

Hot off the presses, this is the second issue by this fine skate-punk magazine. 7-Inch Dine Alone

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION JACKSON are a piss-take hardcore thrash band whose music has all the snotty attitude you could ever hope for. If you dig bands whose middle fingers are waving at all time but still know how to wield their instruments and rip through some first-rate thrash, this is for you. Almost everyone of these songs was recorded on the first take and the raw delivery is the icing on the cake. Instead of the hyperthrashing sound that is all the rage today, AAJ are more reminiscent of the early 80s sound that would later be known as power violence. SOUND OF FAILURE deliver screaming emo hardcore songs that bring to mind Usurp Synapse and early era Jeromes Dream. The SKEWBALD cover points the way.

Keep Our Beaches Clean 7-Inch Trash Talk

Eigth fast and spite-filled trash anthems by these SoCal boys. Fed up with yuppie tourists clogging 'their' beaches and filling the streets of their 'town', WTSE are quite territorial and pissed. They also lament the lack of passion in hardcore and the scars that ebay and downloads leave on the scene. Showing how it's done right, these songs are hardcore destilled. Chorus parts, angry vocals and a powerful delivery, questioning the status quo that smothers us daily. A very pleasant surprise indeed.

It's Over, I'm Done 7-Inch High Fidelity

The Wrath is a straight edge hardcore band based out of Salinas CA. They formed in early 2003 to have fun, put out a good message and have kids punch the floor. Fans of Terror, Earth Crisis, and Bury Your Dead won't be disappointed. Awesome vocals and outspoken straight edge- something I can definitely live with. 'Straight Edge, one voice, one heart.' Limited colored vinyl in stock.

Assault City comp. 7-Inch Reaper

This awesome hardcore compilation features Syracuse's best new hardcore bands. A total of six bands offering up one song each: BLACK SS (awesome hardcore ala Kill Your Idols/ Negative Approach), ATTITUDE (pissed posi core), NO IDOLS (featuring members of The Disaster and Funeral), HIT THE LIGHTS, DAGGERS RULE (awesome) and AWOL. Comes with a friggin' huge lyricsheet (which is rad). Well worth checking out to see what's coming your way in 2005.

demo CD Sell Our Souls

'This is our city, get the fuck out!' screams lead STOP AT NOTHING screecher Floppy Matt in this demo's opening track, 'Get Bent'. Potential xenophobic slants aside, this is a pretty cool little rager of a demo. With a treble-heavy production, humorous high-pitched vocals and no shortage of energy, this is old-school with no attempts at sounding tough. Sincere and all that, but also rote, by-the-numbers hardcore that is basically the dictionary definition of cheesy. Fans into old school hardcore will eat this up. Capital City Straight Edge go!

s/t 7-Inch Third Party

StillxIll deliver 6 songs packed with precision Chain of Strength inspired drumming, early 80's hardcore riffs, and sassy as fuck punk rock vocals that remind me of second era Dischord bands at times, to create a furious and unique Straight Edge outfit that isn't afraid to stray from the beaten path. The hardest thing (for me) was getting used to the weird cover artwork.

Prepare To Die! LP Mike Fitzgerald

From the wasteland known as Hesperia, CA come these crossover freaks. These guys know their '80s thrash metal, and this will fit in nicely with your Accused, and Nuclear Assault records. Eleven songs on this 45 rpm 12inch. If you are into Holier Than Thou and DFA then you will dig this record.

Do You Remember When 7-Inch Sell Our Souls

Drug Free Zone 7" Commitment

‘Drug Free Zone’ is a 7″ by Cross Me. It was released in 2001 and it is a 100% Straight Edge release. Nikes, X’d up hands of the members, everything is the way it ‘should be’. The band sounds as they are really big Project X fans which is not a surprise having in mind the name they chose. The tracks are fast and short, the vocals are rough. The lyrics are concerning social and everyday matters like homophobia and straight edge of course.

Messageboard Mayhem comp. 7-Inch Good News

Shittalkers will have a field day with this 'tribute to the B9R messageboard/forum'. But this can be enjoyed by others as well, since it boasts seven mostly unknown (to me) bands of which none disappoints: Starting with a 'Filler' cover from The Distance, Time To Pay, 24 Hours To Live, Through Words, Fortunate Son, Pull The Pin and Endgame rip it up. I never expected it to be this good. Colored vinyl in stock.

All Hope Abandon 7-Inch Dead & Gone

5 fast and pissed off songs from these scumbags from the South on their debut ep. This brooding, sullen-sounding release brings elements of early New York hardcore and INTEGRITY (back when they started out) laced with an attitude all of their own and a nasty streak a mile wide. Angry, negative and powerful. Artwork by Dwid from Integrity.

7-Inch PBP

Both bands on this split play fast youthful positive hardcore with an 80's influence, melody and some awesome chorus parts. Intelligent lyrics that cover themes beyond the usual hardcore topics are another plus. Hardcore for the punks! Colored vinyl in stock.

The Chaos Continues 7-Inch Bridge Nine

Quote: 'I like the attitude these men are wearin'. Death to teenage America! Burn, Warped tour, burn! Hell yeah. For The Worse are a bunch of psychotics playing vintage Boston Hardcore (think SSD). All of these songs sound like that old Evel Kneivel motorcycle that you revved up and pull the ripcord on. And just like ol' Evel, they hit the wall in, like, a minute. Maniacs.' Vocalist Mike McCarthy (formerly of A Poor Excuse) makes his return from the ring to the stage.

CAPITAL DEATH plays intense original sounding hardcore punk. Imagine a cross betweem SEPITC DEATH and FILTH.
