Rising from the ashes of Born Dead Icons, Montreal, Canada's Complications take a darker turn, exchanging D-beats for melancholy guitars and choruses, influenced by Killing Joke and New Model Army.
Members of current Long Island, NY champs Incendiary and Bottom Out have joined forces to present Compound, which has a sound reminiscent of bands of yore like Judge and Warzone. All 7"s are one-sided with a screen printing on the B-side. On colored vinyl.
One of the most earth shattering demos from a new band earlier this year. Pittsburgh folks (members of HOUNDS OF HATE and NO TIME) killing it with an utterly fierce onslaught of 80's influnced US HC. If you're living in the USA check BEACH IMPEDIMENT RECORDS.
All the way from the city of champions, Concealed Blade follows up their massive 2015 demo with 13 more tracks of the pummeling hardcore punk that those aligned with the Braddock Hit Factory have been churning out for many moons now; keeping the emphasis on quality over commonplace, riffs over a complete lack of riff, and really just hardcore over horse shit. This 12" platter is evidence that the Blade still ain't for the weak and is just as precise and cutting in the execution of their songs as they've ever been.
Concrete was started back in 2010 when Lenny (vocals) and John (guitar) met up. Drawing on their influences from mid-'90s hardcore bands such as Madball, Sick Of It All and Agnostic Front, they began writing. What they have crafted here is a set of eight hard-hitting, NYHC songs bound to get the pit moving. Now available on vinyl. Vinyl version includes digital download.
Newest release from Florida's kings of skate punk. Five songs to fuel your next ramp session with a mix of tunes that go from professing their love of skating to avoiding the pitfalls of day to day living. Pissed off, aggressive and makes you think about the world we live in. "Coping Mechanism" is sure to be blaring at a skate park near you soon.
Concrete Cross formed out of the wreckage of several prematurely aborted
NYHC bands including Sick Of Talk, Disnihil and Celebrity Murders.
Musically, there are nods to Die Kreuzen, Poison Idea and Citizens
Arrest, while vocally, frontman Artie Phillie delivers a manic,
"Animosity"-era Corrosion Of Conformity performance. All the lyrics have
to do with freaking the fuck out, but not in a fun way.
Concrete Facelift bring fast traditional skate-core to the masses. CFL play it like it should be, fast simple, creative and fucking passionate without the metal wanking and showboating that dominates the skate-core landscape today. On colored vinyl.
Fierce all-female hard-core punk, raw, unapologetic, and in-your-face. With ex-members of Reaccion with lyrics in English, Spanish and Farsi. Condenada are from Chicago's South Side and have been touring around the country making the punks raise their fist. 5 trax of politics, punch and power. This sold out in a matter of days, but I've managed to get some copies.
These demo tracks from Los Angeles, CA's Condition were released on cassette and then on 7" in Europe and now are available on 7" in the United States. Condition features members of Trash Talk, Kruel, and DNF, and play raging Japanese/Scandi hardcore in the same vein as Framtid, Kriegshog and Meanwhile.
Yup, that's the Sub Pop logo on the front of the latest Condominium single. It might seem like a head-scratcher at first, but it does make sense that Sub Pop would go for one of the most exciting and innovative bands in the current HC scene. So, what do Condo deliver? The first side is comprised of two hardcore bangers that are right up there with their best work... driving, desperate hardcore. The b-side indulges the band's more experimental side; it sounds like all live instruments, but the song is built around an undeniably quirky riff. All in all a very strong EP and a worthy addition to your growing Condominium collection.
Condominium's first 12" release after 7"s on Fashionable Idiots continues to take a stroll down the path of stranger punk rock, sounding like three hardcore kids who got into '90s AmRep Records stuff as well as Flipper and Black Flag and spit it out in six songs of noisy, grimy and slightly experimental punk rock.
Brand new 3-song 7" from one of the mightiest bands in punk, and I'm stoked to see the band return to their original aesthetic after their Sub Pop single. After just a few listens I'm thinking this might be my favorite Condominium material yet. Much like their LP they start off with a totally ignorant, stomping hardcore riff then get totally weird. The riffs here are just this otherworldly combination of catchy and inventive... the song on the b-side in particular is just transcendent, with this totally bizarre riff that sounds like later Black Flag jamming with Rudimentary Peni or something, but even weirder... it's almost in the territory of avant-garde classical music, but still totally punk. Brilliant and utterly essential.
The gentlemen of Confines, who
have done time in Social Circkle, Blank Stare, Failures, Brain Killer
and Cut The Shit, return with a 7" that features a plodding dinosaur of a
hardcore song on the A-side that could be likened to the slow, dirgy
songs on the B-side of Black Flag's "My War" and a B-side that picks the
tempo up as well as the angst, with one track reminiscent of the A-side
of "My War" and one straight up hardcore thrash attack.
Third full length from this amazing brazilian band. 10 tracks of relentless vegan sxe metal in vein of Earth Crisis, Slayer and Obituary. Expect double bass, wailing guitars and bandans. Lyrics are in spanish (which reminds me of the mighty BRUJERIA), but come with english translations. No doubt- these guys are tough as nails.
Western Massachusetts straight edge troupe Conqueror bring five songs of heavy, down- tuned hardcore in the vein of Terror, Blacklisted and Shipwreck to this debut EP. Their passionate live shows have appeared up and down the east coast opening for the bands above, plus The Acacia Strain, Death Threat and Rhinoceros. On colored vinyl.
With three members of What Happens Next and one from Japan's Assfort, Conquest For Death don't dissapoint on this thirteen song LP of pure, no-frills, thrashing hardcore punk that would appeal to fans of the members' former projects. Great lyrics and awesome Hardcore-Punk with a touch of old school metal tossed in.
After several years in the shadows, CONQUEST FOR DEATH offer their first full length slab since 2013’s Many Nations, One Underground. Breaking from their routine of haste and geographical separation, A Maelstrom Of Resentment and Remorse was written in Oakland over the course of several months following their East Asian tour in 2015, giving them time to fully develop and realize songs while honing sights on the short blasts of fury that have been their signature since the band was born out of an impossible idea more than a decade ago. Razor sharp guitars have a heft that we haven’t heard before from CFD, and the addition of B (SCHOLASTIC DEATH, NO STATIK) on drums has turned their thrash into a battering ram. Dating back to his time in WHN?, and ALL YOU CAN EAT before that, Devon’s words have always provoked thought, but this record shows a reflection that is not always pretty, or even hopeful…and he’s showing us our own faces in that mirror. Doses of frustration to rip the scabs off of still healing wounds, exposing our differences and our hypocrisies with lyrics decidedly more dark than the band’s previous releases, a darkness and intensity that consumes the vocal delivery. But the record is not without hope, far from it, and closes with a two minute sonic montage featuring the voices of friends from all over the world celebrating the power of DIY hardcore in more than fifteen languages. Grit your teeth if you need to, fight through the frustration, because there’s a reason we are still here.
Constant Elevation started in 2018 as a project between singer-songwriter Vinnie Caruana of The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche, and Peace'd Out, and drummer Sammy Siegler of Youth Of Today, Rival Schools, and many more. They released their self-titled debut EP on Revelation Records in September 2019 and, shortly after, connected with bassist Jani Zubkovs of Caspian and guitarist Mike Ireland of Pass Away And I Am The Avalanche to make a band of it. With four new songs ready to go, Constant Elevation recorded "Freedom Beach" with Jon Markson (Drug Church, Brothertiger) at Savaria Studios in Brooklyn, NY. On colored vinyl.
Constant Elevation is a new musical endeavor orchestrated by drummer
Sammy Siegler (Youth Of Today, Judge, World Be Free) and featuring
Vinnie Caruana (The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche) on vocals. Recorded
by Davey Warsop (Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Throwdown, Vanishing Life), Siegler's
World Be Free bandmates Andrew Kline, Joe Garlipp, and Alex Baretto
round out the lineup on this recording. The final result is "Fuck
Runnin'," "Mouth In Motion," and "Fletch" - three rippers on the
Constant Elevation debut release. On colored vinyl.
After an excellent demo tape, Constant Fear has taken the time to perfect and craft an absolutely phenomenal debut LP that steamrolls any and all competition. Imagine the furious guitar crunch of Discharge being blasted through a gritty, NYHC filter spewing out from a practice space in the bowels of Los Angeles. Comprised of members of Dry Rot and Knife Fight, the members are well versed in creating memorable, unbridled and incredibly aggressive hardcore. This is a hardcore LP for a generation tired of weak and complacent hardcore punk played by people who don't know what they are doing; this is hardcore for those who do not know the meaning of the word "soft." Limited edition of 500 copies.
This hardcore band from Manhattan Beach, CA started out in February 2011 and is on their second release and it's a good one from start to finish. Very good old school hardcore sound from these guys and it grabs you from the first song with angry/personal lyrics of not taking anymore shit and doing what they want. This four piece band is really tight and hits all the right spots to make you want to play this again and again. Nice shouted vocals that are heartfelt and not too heavy on breakdowns or metal, just good old hardcore. Everything has room on here to be heard and enjoyed, they have some good production on this one and it's only five tracks, one being a Slapshot cover "Back On The Map", and it leaves you wanting more. On colored vinyl.
Two of the Midwest's best kept secrets return with four tracks or
blistering hardcore. Constraint has members of Inclination, Wicked
Garden. and Nine Eyes, and bring a sense of urgency. Tyler's
uncompromising vocals are reminiscent of Earth Crisis but with the
scalding ferocity of Strife. Contrast is made up of members of Spine and
Devil's Den, and could be the offspring of Integrity and 100 Demons,
hard-as-nails riffs and Antonio's vicious vocal attack make you want to
bulldoze everything in sight. Hardcore is alive and well in 2019. On colored vinyl.
After their demo, this band from Barcelona is back with 4 tracks of
angry and spiritual 90’s straight edge hardcore, for fans of 108, Strain
or Unbroken.
