1982 Orange Peel Sessions 7" Doctor Strange Records

Uniform Choice originally formed in 1982 in Newport Beach, CA and in September 1982, recorded these four tracks known as the "Orange Peel Sessions." This era of the band did not feature the members that played on the "Screaming For Change" record and is indeed a very different sounding band with a style much more akin to the Orange County beach punk at the time or late-'70s UK bands. This 7" still serves as an important documentation of one of OC's best bands at their infancy as well as a snapshot of that time and scene in general. 7" includes digital download and is limited to 600 copies on colored vinyl.

Screaming For Change LP Southern Lord

One of the greatest American hardcore releases of the '80s gets the deluxe Southern Lord reissue treatment. "Screaming For Change" was the debut album from Orange County, CA's godfathers of positive jardcore: Uniform Choice. It was originally released in 1986 on the bands own label, Wishing Well Records. Vocalist Pat Dubar recently contacted Southern Lord with the desire to have a official re-issue of the classic album "done right." After several unauthorized, completely sub-par bootlegs appeared, Pat wanted a definitive version released to set the record straight. This essential piece of hardcore history has been remastered from the original tapes by Brad Boatright (Excel, Nails, High On Fire, YDI, Brotherhood). The elaborate packaging includes an eight-page, 12" x 12" booklet bound into a stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket. There are a ton of amazing, never-before-published photos from the personal archives of the band and their friends. This is a very special release that is not to be missed.

Death In The Place Of Rebirth LP Per Koro

After last year's self-titled debut, UNION OF SLEEP deliver their 2nd release "death in the place of rebirth". Yet again they dish out uncomplicated, riff-based songs and solos which are obviously rooted in rock, but they come with a doom-metal, sludge and even a hardcore edge. Ruder and more decisive, this record punches like a steam hammer! Besides the essential sludgy, heavy riffs and fucked up atmosphere, you will discover a lot of subliminal grooves, too. Be aware of eight beastly fuckers, raw and crude, from the lowest instincts of mankind. Comprehensive yet refined, the union of extreme influences, instinctual prowess and rugged beauty on "death in the place of rebirth" is nothing less than impressive. If you have any sort of neck, "death in the place of rebirth" will force movement out of your head - in an up and down motion. Tech-metal freaks and hipsters alike will pretend to hate it, but they'll be missing out one of the year's best albums. Imagine THE MELVINS committing fornication with NEUROSIS and you'll get a slight idea of what it's about. LP comes with 350gr thick inside-out cover, and inlay.

Blinding Lights 7-Inch Sabotage

The 'Blinding Lights' EP contains three new Union Town songs that capture the band's shape 2010. The songs were written in the course of a year and were tested on the crowd in different variations during live shows. Raw takes and jams were carefully reshaped and re-recorded in cooperation with Mark van der Male, a friend of the band. Enriched with the artwork of Mara Piccione, who also worked on Union Town's debut album.

s/t LP Powered

Obviously inspired by the bands they've been listening to for the greater part of their lives, Union Town started out with a distinct 'post hardcore' feel to them. Having expanded their horizon since the demo recordings, Union Town is now drawing influences from a broader spectrum which shows in their debut full length. The DC hardcore vibe is still strong though, so get this now!

demo '07 7-Inch Powered

UNION TOWN combime the sound of revolution summer-era DC (Dischord) bands and earlier rock 'n' roll and punk bands with roots planted firmly in dutch hardcore. Great melodic yet heartfelt and powerful hardcore-punk not unlike the ZERO BOYS or BLACK FLAG with a good dose of that typical early Dischord sound. UNION TOWN's demo quickly sold-out, but is now seeing the light of day on a one-time press colored vinyl EP. This record is a volatile mix of melody, power and emotion. Recommended.

Then And Now LP Mankind

Before Eric Ozenne sang for THE NERVE AGENTS and REDEMPTION 87, he was the frontman for the seminal San Francisco area straight-edge band UNIT PRIDE. It was 1988 and the hardcore scene was passing through what is now a legendary era in that genre's past. UNIT PRIDE drew influences from MINOR THREAT, YOUTH OF TODAY, and ANTIDOTE to create one of the most intense and powerful records of the late '80s. No one can argue the fact that it was a special time for the hardcore scene that will not soon be forgotten. And this release will help give UNIT PRIDE a permanent place in the history books of sxe-hardcore. Limited repress for Black Friday RSD on colored vinyl.

Never Mind The Bombings 7-Inch Deathwish

United Nations is a frantic and frenetic hardcore/punk band. Originally rumored to be a project founded by veterans from Thursday, GlassJaw, Converge and more, United Nations' existence and subsequent recordings have been cloaked in confusion since their rumored inception. On the heels of the release of their debut full length on the Eyeball label in 2008, the United Nations Organization (UNO) shut down the band's pages on Social networking sites worldwide. The band was also forced to alter their debut album's cover, sighting retail stores refusal to carry the title with controversial artwork. This informational blackout further added to the aura of mystery surrounding the band, allowing them to grow stronger amidst the chaos. 2010 brings the release of "Nevermind The Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures", the second alleged release from the band. "Nevermind..." is a spastic and violent four song explosion that brings to mind the bygone days of the mid-1990's "screamo" sub-genre. A poignant musical missile meant to sink today's safe and predictable musical establishment. On colored vinyl.

Transparency 7" Quality Control

Manchester Hardcore unit Unjust release their debut 7" 'Transparency', ramping up the ferocity factor since their demo, channelling Brotherhood and Confront vibes with plenty of pit friendly mid tempo beats in between blasting verses. Members of Insist rage unapologetically about the straight edge, with the kind of bold call to action lyrics that make you get up in the morning with a positive spring in your step ready to take on this sick sad world. The speed of Unjust's songs is what sets it apart from the genre, with songs such as 'False' containing drum rolls and blasts for days, and song writing that harkens back to some of the initial waves of hardcore punk in '82 and '85.

s/t 7-Inch Rising Riot

Hello sweden, hail the punks. This record is the debut 7" of the new d-beat-crust monster from Münster. Unrest recorded some brutal neocrust-d-beat blasts and we made a 7" of it, which fits perfectly between skitsystem and victims in your record shelf. So, if you´re an ardent worshipper of all these black-dressed sweded-style hardcore-punk, check this release. We have extra good-looking vinyl, which looks like black-grey marble and a fine coverartwork full of clichés like a pentacle, the skull and a lot of ammo. Well done, young hardcore-folks, well done.

We're Not Coming Down 7-Inch Heart In Hand

This is their 2008 demo pressed onto vinyl, and the upgrade is well deserved. Pissed vocals and rock guitars, it's easy to imagine kids go wild to this. They've even managed to sneak in the occasional melody and some sweet sing-alongs. All told, this is well worth checking out and makes me look forward to what's coming next!

In Trance 7" It's Alive

"Brooklyn’s own best kept secret Up For Nothing are back again with five new songs. The “In Trance” EP offers the opportunity for this New York trio to flirt with the idea of mixing in their signature 90’s fast, catchy pop/punk sound with a new found level of maturation and structure. “In Trance” offers five songs that have been delivered with the positivity, unmistakable energy, and unique vocal melodies that have defined this band for it’s entire existence. Blend that in with the remarkable production of New York Hardcore legend Ernie Parada (Token Entry, GreyArea, Black Train Jack) and you have an end result that will take you back to a time when punk rock had more pride then eyeliner and skinny jeans. These songs will raise fists, raise voices, and raise the bar of their own expectations of what they can accomplish through them. On colored vinyl.
